Interdisciplinary Curriculum

The interdisciplinary nature of the MPHM curriculum is overwhelmingly cited as a strength of the program.  The curriculum includes coursework in plant pathology, entomology, weed science, horticulture, soil science, statistics, education and leadership.

Flexibility to align program with student’s interests

Projects are developed based on student interests and career goals.

Online Courses

Courses in the core curriculum are all online, asynchronous courses.  A growing number of electives have become available as online, asynchronous courses.

We also strive for growth and improvement.  Some areas to build upon:

Professional engagement - Connecting students to professional events and meetings, job shadowing and experiential learning in their locales

Building the MPHM program community, enhance advising, build student enrollment

Increase availability of online courses, evaluate gaps in curriculum needs

Increase funding opportunities for students
